I highly recommend this antenna for dxing long distance AM broadcast radio stations. It is a passive loop antenna, no need to power this antenna. I use this antenna indoors and sometime outdoors when I want to pick up very far AM broadcast radio stations. I logged many stations with this antenna. You can connect it directly to the radio via the 3.5 mm or place it near your radio by inductance coupling. The numbers on the tuning knob on the antenna really helps with locking in the signal.
